Sex During Pregnancy
Coitus is safe throughout the course of pregnancy until the start of labour, provided that the preg is
developing normally and there is no history of miscarriages; but … blowing in the vagina should not
happen for risk of embolism
Generally:
o 1st trimester: sex drive down
o 2nd trimester: sex drive up
o 3rd trimester: sex drive down
Postpartum Period
Obstetricians typically advise a 6-week waiting period for safety and comfort; this depends on the
couple, and mode of delivery
