Little or no sexual interest more common among women. Appreciate affection and intimacy but no interest in genital stimulation. Issues: no standard definition of low sexual desire and many impose a male model of what is normal sexually on women: biological and psychological factors. Hormonal deficiencies, anxiety, depression, dissatisfaction with relationship, all contribute to lack of desire: medical conditions. Testosterone deficiencies, thyroid overactivity/underactivity, temporal lobe epilepsy, hypogonadism: medications to control anxiety or hypertension may reduce desire, men tend to be older than women with this disorder, sexual aversion disorder. Some researchers consider it to be a sexual phobia or sexual panic state.
