Complications: perforation of uteris, infection, cervical lacerations, hemorrhaging. 8-20 weeks following lmp, in a hospital under general anesthesia. Dilate cervix then scrape uterine contents from lining with a blunt scraping tool. 2nd trimester, combines suction and d&c under general anesthesia. Dilate cervix insert suction tube and remaining uterine contents are removed with forceps, then uterine. Chemically induce premature labour and delivery that is injected into the amniotic sac or through suppository. Uterine contractions start and fetus and placenta are expelled within 24-48 hours.
