Blue planes, a key water waste treatment system, was a problem, so it was changed to bnr technology to make it more environmentally friendly. Bnr involves treating the sewage with microbes that will eat it. Chicken farms: where there are chickens, there is manure that flows down into the ditches and then into the bay. Chicken manure has a lot of n, p, and e. coli. Chicken factories instead of chicken farms lead to cheaper prices, but high concentrations of contaminants from poultry manure. Large chicken companies like perdue are not responsible for the manure the small farms they use to grow their chickens are, even though perdue owns the chickens. Factories in seattle made a river running through it the worst hotspot for pcb. Nixon"s government changed the laws because of a massive demonstration by the american public. Clean water act was passed (make waters swimmable and fishable by 1983) but nixon vetoed because he didn"t care about the environment.
