Human development index hdi measures a countries level of development. Earths nearly 200 countries can be classified according to their level of development. Development: the process of improving the material conditions of people through diffusion of knowledge and technology the development process is continuous involving never ending actions to constantly improve the health and prosperity of the people. Every place lies along a continuum of development. The united nations classifies countries as developed of developing. Developed country (more developed country) (mdc): has progressed further along the development continuum. (have very high development). Developing country: (less developed country (ldc)) has made some progress towards development though less than developed countries. Development varies so they can be divided up into high medium low development. To measure level of development un created human development index (hdi). Hdi: considers development to be a function of three factors: a decent standard of living, access to knowledge, a long and healthy life.
