Geography: the study of patterns and processes on the earth"s surface. Environmental, regional and spatial facts are known. Is practical and socially relevant as it teaches us about the world we live in and how we do. These people see how the world is divided, and some of the ongoing transformations of global life. 2 types of geography: physical geography: study of patterns and processes of the physical world. Physical environments (landforms, climate, geology, ecology, rocks) 2. human geography: study of patterns and processes of the human world. Social environment (economy, culture, politics, behaviour, population) The spatial patterns of people, their cultures, economies, settlements, political and social behavior. Where people live, how their lives differ from one place to the next. Significance/interpretation meaning attached to the places where the activities take place. Human geo has close ties to social science (history, economics, anthropology, sociology, psychology and political studies)
