Things that we believe and things that we do. Should teach us a peaceful way of coexising. Compare this map to cultural and language regions map. Culture, language and religion (are they all similar?) Usa: developed naions but 70% believe religion has a posiive impact. All have a direct connecion to religion. Regardless of religion: prety clear we see a building we connect it. Religion: had to start somewhere then spread (difusion) Hearth areas and difusion of four major religions. Decline in church atendance, means increasing secularism. Not important in other parts of world. Religion: two religions don"t get alone (divise force) How diferent is catholics vs protestants (are they really that diferent?) Both part of chrisianity (why do they need this conlict?) Three observaions: all religions have fundamental beliefs about life/aterlife, etc. Role of religion to answer those quesions: no religions appear to openly advocate/support/encourage violence towards others (most discourage violence)
