Canada is a land rich with diverse natural resources. Virtually all of canada was covered by continental ice sheets on at least 3 occasions. Canada has become one of the most cosmopolitan country in the world. 3 largest cities; toronto, montreal and vancouver. A recent glacial period that began roughly 2. 5 million years ago marking the beginning of the quaternary period. Humanoid species such as homo-sapiens began to evolve into autonomically form during the pleistocene period and started to migrate around the world. This marks the most recent glacial episode in northern hemisphere with ice sheets extending south to around new york city. Glaciers had advanced to around 40 degrees north. Ice sheets up to 3km in thickness covered parts of canada and europe on several occasions. Earth orbits the sun in an ellipse.
