Eg. as a result of basic humanity and/or due to globalization. Eg. your only a global citizen if you believe you are and act like one. Can there actually be a universal global ethic . Why is global citizenship a thing: emergence of truly global problems . Financial crisis: globalization makes it feasible in practice. Global civil society - proliferation of ngos in the past years addressing issues around the world through transnational connections. Global problems + ability to respond = not enough. Also need more motivation to take this seriously. Philosophical framework based on universal duties and obligations to all human beings everywhere.
