Globalization and the world today - part 2. How we move, how we talk, how we share information. Via shared experiences (ie. world cup, olympics) Globalization shapes all aspects of contemporary life. What have you done today that was made possible by the processes, forces, and dynamics of. Examples of globalization in action ie. production and consumption chains - starbucks, nike globalization? ie. labour - migrant workers globalization? ie. labour - migrant workers ie. warfare - drone strikes (american drone project) Point is: so many aspects of our life are affected by globalization. Globalization myths: the world is borderless , yes in terms of capital (money), but when it comes to people - that"s not the case. In fact, borders are becoming increasingly enforced: the global erases the local (erases local traditions, not necessarily opposite, but they compliment either. If there were different dominating powers in the world years ago, things would"ve been different therefore there are alternatives.
