Quebec 1970 documentary october crisis of 1970. Nothing more important than the church the church supported capitalism and duplessis the church was supported by the rich who supported capitalism. Duplessis died in 1989 opening the way for revolution. Separatists wanted quebec to be independent when it was controlled by the outside (english speaking) In 1964, queen elizabeth came to canada this event reminded the french that quebec was under english rule/domination. English speaking people had more and better rights than french speaking. Separatists party became an alternative for other parties. Taxi drivers and postal workers protested not all is well with french workers. October crisis flq (4 members) kidnapped james richard cross to get a manifesto published, to free political prisoners, and etc. Flq demands want to be met so the government printed the manifesto many people sympathized. Democracy in quebec seen as democracy of the rich by the flq members.
