Aztec and inca empires- conquered by the spanish empire (conquistadors) 30 year period where crown is not in control after landing in the new world- Hapsburg empire does not have control until they send bureaucrats. They used some prisoners of war for ritualistic sacrifices, did not make them friends. Conquistadors who landed encountered tribes that were hostile towards the. Aztecs- tf they had allies to help them overthrow the aztecs. Tenochtitlan- astonishing capital city of the aztecs. Clergymen took down a lot of information about the empire they had overthrown- where we get our info. City built on rafts, well over 200,000 people living in the capital and central valley, palace complexes, etc.
