History 2t03: survey of canada, beginnings to 1885. Aboriginal lifeworlds in 1500: what is most known about how life was, comes from accounts from the european voyagers, happen to occupy same geographic area. Popular land, not empty : myth that europeans found land that wasn"t occupied, they only saw it like that because it wasn"t a land like their own. All these people had to be moved somewhere else, in order to make the settlement that happened afterwards: aboriginal habitation, culture was based on climate and resources available to them. Because they were dependent on hunting, they moved around seasonally. Hunting and trapping in the winter, and fishing in the summer. No ability to grow crops in this area: 2. Plentiful resources = bigger population: able to preserve food, didn"t have to move, therefore able to build more permanent places to live, they seemed to be the biggest population what is now. Plentiful resources= trade: tools, stones (to carve)
