Bill & His Mom (Live off savings & pension plan)
His mom has Alzheimer’s, he does the daily chores
Hardest part of his life is having time for himself; he must always be
there for her.
She has Alzheimer’s dementia, the illness phases in & out
Madeleine & Elizabeth
Her mother suffered, and cannot communicate well.
Has great sympathy for any care, saving government a lot of money.
She kept getting illness, now she is exhausted
Does not want a nursing home for her mother, they have cut them so
Stroke left him unable to walk, & suffered from hepatitis C
He was secretary manager of Toronto autodealers; he would go out
painting often that was his whole life to do it.
He cannot be alone more than an hour
Getting great service of caregiving for personal needs twice a week.
Had lots of help coming in for broken arm (Doris)
Had developed pneumonia, wife had to go down to hospital and provide
food for him or the nurses would forcefeed him.

Not easy, plays havoc with family & home life to look after her. Back
