Sub-disciplines become interested in studying and correcting behaviours: guidance councillors, schools, etc. Intervening in people"s lives much more often because of our understanding of emotions and behaviour: we turn to psychology to (cid:1688)comprehend and surmount problems of the human condition like despair, loss, conflict(cid:1689). Everyday concerns like (cid:1688)sex, marriage, womanhood and manhood; work, ambitions, worldly failure, habits, desires, inclinations(cid:1689) subject to psychological understanding(cid:1689: psychology has implications in like, every field, so intense is our devotion to understanding internal phenomena. Boom in pop psychology explaining why we do what we do, how we think etc. (cid:1688)art of picking up(cid:1689: sex and romance can be explained as a psychological phenomenon. Mental health concerns now central to everyday life, with 20-50% of population receiving a diagnosis: that"s a lot. These shifts have (cid:1688)changed expectations about what it is to be human(cid:1689: talk about sadness becoming problematic, emotions are suffering, suffering is deficit or bad for human life.
