Christianity relates illness to human beings sinfulness, sinful nature or to specific thoughts or actions sin causes illness directly, cause or effect way, or is a punishment from. Patterns of sin suggest that we are not being disciplined enough to be in tune with or hear god. So individuals are expected to take responsibility for illness: thought is they brought it upon themselves. Healing is admitting one"s sin: healing is renewal. The illness is satan or evil spirits seeking to undermine the human commitment to god. This assertion disassociates god from the sickness and relieves the individual of the blame for their illness. The assertion is that the individual can avoid being victimized by joining a prayer group or healing group. Large healing groups: famous faith healers, powerful healing touch, personal charisma. Roman catholics sacraments extrene unction, penance and eucharist. Laying on of hands touching symbolizes the transfer of energy or power from one person to another.
