Woman who would practice were considered witches and were burned as they were found. Men who were healers were considered doctors. Men believed that woman should not be in the healing area. Women healers were caring and saw medical care as something being universal at the time. Male healers, regular doctors, were exercising therapies (ie. water therapy: doctors would cut peoples wrists until they bleed out the evil , fatal and injurious treatments. Women healers have done their imperialistic research and have come to conclusions and passed on practices: villa dona prevented miscarriages. Control mechanisms to subjugate women to the role of patient.
