Disorders related to addiction include substance use, gambling, and gaming. Con ict between immediate pleasure, long term harm, there is subjectivity about when the scale is off. Not about quantity of use but consequences. It is dependent on what happens to them because of their abuse (their job, family life, physical dependence) It"s so prevalent that we don"t think of it has an addiction. Internet gaming addiction doesn"t include porn, social media, phone use. Some estimates suggest that one in 10 people could be diagnosed with personality disorder, other guess higher. Have trouble living with themselves and others. Tend to be very dif cult to treat, low rates of self-reporting. Interpreting the actions of others as deliberately threatening or demeaning. Tendency towards untrusting, unforgiving, and prone to angry outbursts without justi cation because they perceive others as unfaithful, disloyal, or deceitful. May also be jealous, guarded, secretive, and scheming, and may appear to be emotionally cold or excessively serious.
