Hetero-normative society we live in (prostate cancer- who do they tell and who they don"t tell) ! Status quo saturates ability to receive statuses ! There is a prescribed expectation of how things should be (causes anxiety) ! We are trying to normalize it more so, and recalibrate the experience ! Identity as a person (whether male or female) with regards to a person that becomes something about cancer, whichever kind of is! Doctors treat cancer but they don"t prevent it ! These devastation with regards to identity, as illness or disease enters our life as we try to rede ne ourselves ! We see that if we medicalize issues, if we medicalized those social determinants, then discriminate ! Where are the boundaries, what is medical, what is biomedical, and who should be making decisions about this ! Recognition of problem, cautious optimism, forging of new path !
