We need to understand all social determinants and economic determinants (big pharma) Humanity is affirmed by recognizing the depth and breadth of our vulnerability. Dictionary definition: to be susceptible to something, a bad something. Medically the bad something is a disease or infection: i. e. vulnerable to contracting malaria or aids. For now the institutionalized = one feels vulnerable in an unfamiliar surrounding. For the caregiver it is even more complicated years of home care arduously carried out ends in a kind of abandonment as their partner is institutionalized. The partner who care gave may feel emotionally wounded due to a misplaced sense of spousal abandonment. Caregiver feels powerless to provide care and comfort to their partner.
