However some rha"s have experimented with other types of funding such as activity-based, patient-centred, and incentive-based funding. Hospitals get a large portion of money and they decide how to allocate the money. There is potential to make more money using capitation, as the more patients they see, the more money they make: nurses - normally paid a salary and works within hierarchically directed health organizations. Yes when the province or territory has more specialists, it does have fewer primary care doctors, however, there are only 2 provinces (ontario and quebec) who have more specialists than primary care. The point of entry in health care is a visit with your family physician, if they are not available then a walk-in-clinic or hospital if necessary.
