Addiction typically framed as negative experience; yet some who record extremely high levels go use are happy, social, and do not su er at work. Had led some argue that digital addiction more mixed than other addictions, sometimes even positive. Older individuals who are less into the digital world are more likely inclined to see it negatively. Internet: 88% canadian use intern, but among younger cohorts use is 100: 2000-2016: average hours per week from 9 to 24, among 18-34 years old, 35 hours. Phones: 25% of young people believe ending a relationship via text is appropriate, whereas 0% of people >50 thought it was okay, younger people: Rate the possibility of no cell phone access as anxiety provoking. Expect rate higher on irritability scale when waiting for a response. Express a greater range of social situations in which cell phone usage is appropriate. Digital addiction was found in a greater degree of acceptance.
