These kids born when society was falling apart. Has to do with lives they were living in 2008/2009. Addiction is an idea/ not set in stone (changing and debatable) Standard definition - addiction is defined as a chronic, relapsing brain disease that is characterized by compulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences. It is considered a brain disease because drugs change the brain - they change its structure and how it works. Illness is loose (involves suffering) - less specific than disease. Addiction is impulsive involvement with particular substance or behavior. More general and does not have clear approach. Does not imply to chemical component (about behavior) Others simply highlight discrepancy between immediate pleasure and long term harm.
