Important because it suggest people need to think about alcohol and the consequences it has. Transformation of economy, urbanization, and the state all make behaviour more noticeable and problematic. One thing we know is that there is a large broth in factories, this changes how people work (going from farming to set hours, and industrial work) Important because if you drink and farm through the day there were no serious consequences, no start time or clock out time > consequences of alcohol use become noticeable due to the set schedule of industrial work. Also more scape for social problems to develop as people go from rural lifestyle to urban to work in industrial factories > also breaks up their social support network as you don"t know everyone in the city. Not as much trading because you are earning a wage, people then turn to drugs to spend their wages. Change peoples behaviour and how they view others.
