Fungiform: look like mushrooms; scatter all over tongue and each contain. Foliate : grooves in later aspect of tongue where tasted buds degenerate in childhood why we lose taste as we age: 3 cranial nerves involved : Vagus (x) throat & epiglottis: appreciation of food requires smell (olfaction) as well, cn i, communicate via receptors safe, nasal epithelium - neurons through cribiform plate of nasal cavity, dentition, types of teeth. Molars grinding: deciduous & permanent.
