Document Summary

The rda (recommended daily allowance) is 130 g/day which is the glucose amount required by the brain. Fruits, dairy, and whole grains consist of carbs in their natural, unrefined state. Refining carbohydrates reduces their nutrient content, separating them from vitamins, minerals and fibre they contain. The super refined carbs don"t do any good for us. You want to get them in their unrefined state so you maximize their nutrients and fiber. If you are not taking that amount of carbs in then we need to get blood glucose from somewhere so it will have to come from protein so you are going to lose lean body mass. You need to eat a proper diet and with exercise you will maintain the lean body mass and lose the weight. The acceptable macronutrient distribution range (amdr) for carbohydrates is 45-65% which is why much of our diet should be made up of carbs.
