Most aid in the chemical breakdown of food; add chemicals to environment to chemically digest the food (salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, pancreas) Teeth & tongue are involved in mechanical digestion. Ducts that lead from the organ into the gi tract. There are 6 basic processes involved in digestion. Release of water, acid, buffers, & enzymes into lumen of gi tract. Accessory organs & glands in the gi tract.
