The thickest, strongest layer, (dense irregular connective tissue) Has two layers, however only 1 layer covers both the spinal cord and the brain. Only covers the brain, not the spinal cord d. The inner layer of the dura mater folds on itself at a place called the longitudinal fissure - this is called the falx cerebri - which divides the cerebrum into two hemispheres e. As you go away from the longitudinal fissure - the perisosteal layer has a triangle shaped place near it - the dura venous sinus i. Here blood from the brain is drained and put in the inter jugular vein.
