KINESIOL 3B03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Dsm-5, Mood Disorder
Document Summary
Highly recurrent patterns of defiant, disobedient, hostile, rule-breaking behaviour towards authority figures (i. e. parents) Stubbornness (not wanting to participate in activity), arguing (if participating, argue about rules, components, etc. Signs almost always present in the home with people they know (parents, siblings, family, teachers) Justify behaviour as a response to unreasonable demands/circumstances. Put in a unique social setting they will not act this way. Might say there are too many rules, this is why i act this way . Always try to put the blame towards family/school. 2-16% of the population, quite high, usually symptoms are prevalent before age 8. More common in families where one parent has a mood disorder (too much or lack of control, too many rules, etc. )
