Shoulder girdle: clavicle and scapula moving together as a unity. Acute injury to ac: sc joint is at the front, pivot point for the extremity. Ac: clavicle with acromion process: doesn"t have a lot of moion happening, planar joint (2 surfaces that glide back and forth, rotates a litle. Aggravaing moions: ac is about holding the girdle together, shoulder movements will be challenged, flexion and extension, abducion and adducion, lateral and medial rotaion, rotaion. Not as much, humerus spinning to glenoid, not a big issue: flexion and abducion are the biggest. Girdle has to elevate, scapula rotate superior. Disconinuity, need coordinaion: cross lexion and cross extension. Extension: brings girdle back, opens up ac joint, painful. Other condiions to consider: clavicle fracture (goes with separaion, damage to upper traps, blends into the ac joint capsule. Rockwood classiicaions: clavicle can move around, there"s a diferent system, most common are type 1-3, type 1.
