KINESIOL 3K03 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Plantar Fascia, Joint Capsule, Synovial Joint
Document Summary
Synovial joint: joint capsule with synovial luid inside it, aricular carilage. Botom part (plantar: thicker, called plantar plate, very strong on the botom. Muscle: hallicus, fhl (lexor hallicus longus, curls the big toe on the botom side, fhb (lexor hallicus brevis) always brevis with longus. Flexor tendons crossing the botom of the joint. Goes down in a way that results in: talo-crural joint: neutral to dorsi posiion (ankle, mtp joint: extension of fhl, failure on botom side of mtp joint: capsule and tendons. Hyper extensive posiion, open up botom side and plantar surface which rips it open. Need to add extra force to it, puing body weight onto heel, adding an axial load through foot that pushes it harder into extended posiion. Most imes it"s all 3 or 2/3 components. Footwear: very lexible, soccer cleats allow the toe to extend more. Surface: cleat to ariicial turf interacion is much stronger (grips more) vs. natural turf.
