A method of helping the group to increase efeciveness, saisfy the needs of its members and improve work condiions. Goal: expectaion that the intervenion will produce a more cohesive group want team enhancement for both task and social purposes. Accelerate the group formaion stages faster than would naturally occur: reduce storming", enhance norming" and performing". If you target cohesiveness, this should have beneicial efects on performance. Team building intervenions are oten indirect: don"t develop cohesion directly, focus is on mediaing variables (variables that inluence cohesion) Team building intervenion mediator cohesion: if you don"t do anything to account for cohesion then it won"t happen, change these things because it doesn"t happen directly. Coach-athlete individual meeings: clarify team structure and individual expectaions, reinforce value of role in team context. Anonymous teammate feedback: player x must do this for each player, team meeing to share responses, understand and appreciate each other"s responsibiliies.
