Classic theoreical deiniion: the resultant of all forces acing on members to remain in the group. There are forces atracing members to the group, want to be a part of it. Dynamic process which is relected in the tendency for a group to sick together and remain united in the pursuit of its instrumental objecives and/or for the saisfacion of member afecive needs. Mulidimensional: remain united due to many factors. Goals are complex and varied: perceived in muliple ways by diferent groups and their members. Group integraion: each individual"s percepions of the group as a total unit, set or collecion. Individual atracion to the group: each individual"s personal feelings about the group. Percepions are manifested in relaion to the: group task: during compeiion, pracice, social aspects of group interacion: outside of formal group/team aciviies. Group cohesion leads to group integraion and individual atracion to the group. Atracion to group task: i"m happy with the amount of playing ime i get.
