Fluid entering tissue spaces - swelling contribution: bradykinin particularly helps/tendency to make nociceptors more sensitive - change in pain threshold, things start to feel painful that may not normally be so. Swelling: heat, redness, pain, not necessarily all of these symptoms, depends on the injury.
