Document Summary
Kin 4kk3 lecture 7 rom cont. and resistance exercise. Lack of agreement on what a trigger point is/what the diagnosis of a trigger point is: not something that is easily picked off in all people - room for ambiguity. A little contraction that then shutters off - when people palpate this trigger point at the right spot/pressure and the muscle reacts with this local twitch response. Local and referred pain: a very local specific pain - painful to the touch directly, but also the capacity to make us feel pain in other locations/tissues where the trigger point does(cid:374)"t e(cid:454)ist (cid:894)referred pai(cid:374)(cid:895) Pain associated with active sensitive trigger point may be part of what"s limiting someone"s rom. In some individuals may be able to treat that trigger point and perhaps restore the muscles capacity to lengthen to a more normal rom.
