Beyond the organized : what can/should union do for workers. Unions trying to do work (organize) with workers they do not represent. However, some unions do not like doing this. Most of them do not know their rights, very limited. Don"t have access to wider canadian society. Union servicing: advocate (trying to get them access to healthcare, social services, and other basic services) Migrant workers pay into employment insurance, pension but don"t know how to receive it. Protection (eg: housing): employers who hire immigrants think that they will be able to profit greatly and get away with things. Unions tell and try to help workers: don"t have to live where they employer wants to live, and employer can fire them, get them into better housing. Right to organize: protect unions rights to unionized. : domestic servants (less like unions have not help them much) Unions are created by a legal structure.
