Gender the socially constructed norms, roles, behaviours, activities and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for women and men: study on young workers looking at gender. Women complained on working conditions more than men, but nothing was done. Sex the biological and physiological characteristics that de ne women and men. Gender differences and tasks: women face horizontal and vertical segregation. Women face different working conditions because they cluster in certain jobs. Women less likely to in uence working conditions especially if they"re in the lower levels of a workplace with no authority. Men and women may have the same hob title but do the work differently. Biological differences (sex) - how different are women and men: reproduction (pregnancy, menstruation, etc. ) Only different among men and women on average: size. Only different among men and women on average: strength. Only different among men and women on average: shape. Only different among men and women on average.
