A Global Warning Movie Notes- Winter 2014 • May 2003- extreme tornadoes in the west • 2007- melting icebergs • Africa droughts leading to hunger • 650 million years ago back into history- where it all started- earth was frozen • 55 million years ago (mya)- hot temperature on earth • 250 million years ago- global warming 95% species wiped out • 650 million years ago- earth was warm and rainy, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere the planet cooled down, which caused a chain reaction- snow balls • Snow- sun reflected so earth stays warm -albeedo effect- always active, but this time in the opposite direction -Sea ice shrinking every year • 250 million years ago- mystery, the world got really hot, 95% species were wiped out • Evidence?
