Semantics of the presupposes uniqueness/salience of referent. When you hear the apple on the towel with two apples present in the scene then this helps constrain your understanding of the referent. Contrast set need to know which apple is being referred to. Pour the egg in the bowl over the flour . Could be the goal of the pouring event in the bowl . Two contrasting referential contexts, each of which have two eggs. In a there"s two eggs in a glass and bowl but in b the one egg is still in its shell and the other one as an egg in the bowl. B would be the incompatible referent and one of them is pourable but the egg with a shell isn"t. So a would be considered the contrasting set because both of them are pourable and need to know which egg we need to pour. Egg in shell (not pourable) then preq look at false goal.
