MEDRADSC 2BB3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 3: Radiography, Workflow, Frequency Domain
Document Summary
Compares all modality & how they score in detail. Nuc med does not have very good ability to demonstrate contrast & detail (bc its far away from the axis); has the poorest resolution possible. Shows where radioactive compounds are going; only one that shows physiology (what"s happening w in the cells) Contrast level of ct is close to what it should be represented as;there is notmuch of a difference in the display of contrast (good thing); displayed image is very similar to the structures were acquiring; has tighter collimation. Expected to know that out of all radiography, ct has the best contrast resolution. Contrast resolution is not as good as ct bc it has real time imaging & it isn"t ionizing. No modality has a perfect offering for the patient. Mamo has the best spatial resolution (closest to the y-axis); gives us the best detail (resolves very small structures) Link modalities to pacs for others to access information.
