Document Summary

3 branches off of aorta: brachiocephalic trunk, left common carotid, left subclavian. As the subclavian arteries pass over lateral edge of 1st rib, it becomes the axillary artery. Subscapular artery has 2 branches the circumflex scapular artery & thoracodorsal artery. Axillary artery becomes the brachial artery at the lower border of the pectoralis minor muscle. Ends at neck of radius & divides into radial & ulnar arteries. Made of 4 branches: profunda brachii (deep) Terminates by dividing into the radial collateral artery & middle collateral artery: humeral nutrient artery, superior ulnar collateral artery, inferior ulnar collateral artery. Both ulnar collateral arteries anastomose w the anterior & superior ulnar recurrent arteries. Collateral arteries form a network around the elbow and form anastomosis w other arteries. Middle collateral artery w the interosseous recurrent artery. Radial collateral artery w the radial recurrent artery. Recurrent artery = turns around after anatomizing w its parent artery.
