Digits 2-5 consist of 3 phalanges (distal, intermediate, proximal), digit 1 consists of 2 phalanges (distal & proximal) Joint b/n the phalanges is called the interphalangeal joints (ip joints) Digits 2-5 have proximal & distal interphalangeal joints. Joint b/n the 1st metacarpal & the proximal phalanx is called the metacarpophalangeal joint, or mcp joint. The name consists w the name of the 2 bones making up the joint. Some lovers try positions that they can"t handle. Rounded tubercle; found on the anterior margin of the distal aspect; part of the carpal tunnel.
