Difficult to know what standards of acceptability should be. In past; manufacturer-determined type of testing and parameters suitable. Aapm made standardizations in testing protocols, allows for unambiguous comparison and description of system performance. Aapm in evalulating diff cr systems for qc consistency. All cr cassettes and ip cleaned and erased before beginning tests. Exposures measured in consistent fashion take out variability. Crystals, laser light and mirror system for aiming, bright white light, motorized moving components that move screen to where it needs to be. State of system can be determined through use of standardized qc test.
