Creativity is a process - not innate. Ideas are like pancakes - usually the first few don"t work out. Involve acts of repair or making, using easy to find + low cost parts. Can provide fundamental services to developing countries. Developed countries: tech-culture is all about fastest, most efficient. Two thirds of the world do not have access to the most basic technologies. Tech crafts seek out a way to create a digitally inclusive society. Non-institutionalized - based on needs, an informal system. Xerox was research driven, not focused on commercial. Chain of conceptual, first model, improved model. Looking for new ways to do things. More abstract + absurd ideas have the potential to provide more possible solutions. Well suited to generating ideas, but analysis + evaluation is still necessary.
