Stop moion was used in hollywood ilms such as king kong (1932) and the skeleton ight in jason and the argonauts (1963) The skeletons were animated by noted special efects pioneer, ray harryhausen, who died earlier this year at the age of 92. Relaively recent feature ilms such as coraline and paranorman are based on stop moion. Well known animators such as jan svankmajer and the brothers quay have used stop moion in several projects.
