Laura is ignoring the offensive stuff and lydecker keeps poking at her until eventually she breaks and drops the pretense. As soon as she drops the pretense, the laura theme comes back because that is the real laura. Note how the music transitions back and forth from source to score. Laura is being depicted as this absolutely remarkable women, it is like she is the perfect woman.
