Adding to the relationship: less fixed, mt has control over pausing or slowing down or changing rhythm in order to engage with the client. Why is it a powerful tool? (listening exercise: with cognitively disabled, using pre-composed music that have meaning evoke emotions that may have not come on their own. In a group mt session it could look like a sing along: differences: precomposed songs being used by mt in group are with the intent of reaching specific health care goals. In a sing along the goal could be to practice singing or for entertainment value. Mt is choosing songs with the residents, with meaning and with intent. Mrs. smith is from italy so we do italian songs.
