We know music is important, but it is through research that we can understand and validate why it is important. "out of 50 individuals with autism who were referred to mt for speech and communication" 5 weeks week 1, 10 words week 2, 20 words week 3. Mt has an impact on increasing vocabulary. Needs to be expanded to others in order to have strong validity - same interventions for. Implement the interventions and research others would have similar results (replicability) Answers questions using rich and detailed narratives or written accounts. Changes in range of motion from nmt (standardized to be quantitatively based) Can objectively measure the change between interventions. But also need the subjective stories - the other pieces that contribute to the data in order to get the entire picture. Qualitative - comments/statements about enjoying the experience, qualitative comments.
