Effects of mt on vital signs, feeding, and sleep in. It is believed that recorded music risks over stimulation in nicus (neonatal icu) familiar to infant. Why use live music interventions? developing neonate can hear mother"s heart beat as early as 16 weeks infants regulate to vital sounds of intrauterine environment. Nicu environment not acoustically regulated to provide optimal environment: protective soundscape to chaotic soundscape of the world. Evidence suggests infants have natural capacity to entrain to sounds that surround them able to do this very early in development. Mts from mid-atlantic pediatric hospitals with established mt nicu program. Mts observed live and vid recorded applications of each intervention. 17 certified mt"s and 8 graduate interns were trained at beth israel medical center. Trained mts to ensure consistency also occurred in: mt in addition to standard care for depression. Mt"s al trained to use 3 specific interventions.
