Use religious reference, are a part of british culture at the time. Concord, a pacifist monthly newspaper, uses religious language mixed with more secular appeals. Socialism in britain often tied to christianity, more moderate that found in germany, Socialists follow ideas of thinkers like karl marx and frederick engels. World is divided into those who own capital, those who sell their labour for wages. Revolution inevitable, world will come to see the only way forward is equality. Some see easy links between socialism and pacifism, but many fear these labels.
